WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?
Hypnosis is simply a state of focused concentration, bypassing the conscious mind, allowing you access to your subconscious mind. Its a normal, natural state of the mind that humans experience every day. When we are in the hypnotic state, our minds interpret guided images and suggestions as real experiences, thus creating new experiences for our mind to leap from going forward. New experiences (whether real or hypnotic) create new thoughts, new beliefs, new reality, and new actions. (For example, something that was experienced as fearful can now be experienced and perceived as not fear-based at all, releasing its power over you) So simple, so gentle, and so effective!
WHAT CAN HYPNOSIS DO FOR ME?
Using hypnosis, Hypnotherapy can help you augment positive things in your life, or rid yourself of negative things. While most people believe they will not go into hypnosis, most people CAN be hypnotised. While in hypnosis, you are always in complete control of yourself and of the situation. Because hypnosis is a state of focused concentration, being intelligent and in control will actually aid you in achieving hypnosis.
WHAT IF I GET ASKED SOMETHING I AM UNCOMFORTABLE WITH?
While in hypnosis, you are always in complete control of yourself and the situation. The subconscious mind is where we store our moral map, if you will. While under hypnosis, if asked something that makes one uncomfortable, one will simply reject the notion. As a professional, I work within a client centered approach, and would never want you to feel uncomfortable in any way.
IS A HYPNOSIS SESSION A COUNSELLING SESSION?
I am able to offer both hypnotherapy and counselling. As a Certified Hypnotherapist I provide a unique blend of hypnosis techniques with complementary counselling, allowing my clients to experience a full and supportive experience. I offer both short-term, as well as full care transformative counselling. I take into account the unique needs of each of my clients and we determine together how to best support them in reaching their goals. Please note, to serve my clients better I am in the application process to the CRPO, however it is important to know that at this time I am not a Registered Psychotherapist. I am under the supervision of a Registered Social Worker, therefore my services may be covered under your insurance plan for RSW. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.
WHAT IS A HYPNOSIS SESSION LIKE?
Our first session together will last 1.5 hrs, which will give us time to answer any questions you have about hypnosis, and the session itself. Subsequent sessions will last 1.5 hours. During a session, you and I talk about your goals and discuss how to help your personal situation. If we decide hypnotherapy is appropriate for your situation, I then will guide you into hypnosis, proceed with the hypnotic suggestions we have discussed and created together earlier in the session. After you emerge from the relaxing hypnotic state, we will talk about your experience, talk about next steps, and that is it. Future sessions can include more hypnotherapy, further counselling, or whatever we decide together that would best suit your needs. It is extremely important to me that my clients feel safe, informed and listened to. People report the feeling of being in hypnosis to be a wonderful feeling. Some clients say they feel light and airy, some clients say they feel heavy and deeply relaxed. Some clients report feeling as though they were dreaming about something on one hand, and clearly listening to me on the other hand. Each person has a unique experience of the hypnotic state.
WHY DO YOU HAVE SUCH A HIGH SUCCESS RATE?
In addition to the years of education, training and experience I have acquired, I offer my clients tools that continue strengthening the power of our sessions long after our sessions have ended. HOW MUCH DOES A SESSION COST?
Each private session is $170. Most clients need only 5-10 sessions to reach their desired goal when using hypnotherapy for particular goal oriented issues. That being said, the number of sessions will vary from client to client. Many of my clients choose to attend monthly sessions after their goals have been achieved to maintain success or to attend to other life goals, knowing how well hypnotherapy worked for them already.
